The Minister Fedeli inaugurates Fair Didacta Italy

Fair Didacta Italy has opened today (27 September) in the da Basso Fortress with its 150 exhibitors, 93 workshops, national and international exhibitions and conferences on the future of the Italian school. All the events are already completely sold out.

Honour guest was the Minister of Education Valeria Fedeli who emphasised “This first edition of Didacta proves the quality of school innovation. In this Fair an important theme is going to be tackled: the confrontation on didactical innovation. Every year, the best didactic practices, giving priority to the quality of the educational paths, are going to be exchanged here. Teaching staff’s training is at the core of the innovation process as well as new school responsibilities”.

«Having managed to take for the first time Didacta, the largest event on school education, out of Germany – The president of Firenze Fiera Leonardo Bassilichi declared – is the tangible proof that Italy is a fully functioning country. The greatest satisfaction for us is that the German organisers will adopt some of our innovative solutions in the next edition of Didacta in Germany».

«Didacta is a hymn against the stereotypes of a malfunctioning Italy, an event breaking down ideological barriers conceiving school, institutions and enterprises as separated realities not collaborating with each other. It is also the practical example demonstrating that the school doesn’t belong only to the its operators, teachers, headmasters, administrators and students: the school belongs to the country, is useful for everyone and is made up of all the people», the deputy mayor of Florence, Cristina Giachi declared quoting also the Priest Lorenzo Milani, «The teacher is a prophet who must be able to read the signs of the time».

“The Fair is the result of the synergy and collaboration between all the institutions involved which had produced great results – The councillor for Education of the Tuscany region, Cristina Grieco emphasised- our objective is to make Fair Didacta Italy a reference point for Italy and for all the European countries of the Mediterranean area».

«All those who participate to the event will have the chance to experience and discuss new didactic approaches», The President of Indire, Giovanni Biondi has declared, « innovation doesn’t mean being able to use a smartphone. In order to innovate the school we need to change time and spaces of learning and teaching, because the transformation concerns school architecture, learning environments, furnishings, methods and text books. We are going to talk about all these themes in the workshops and conferences of the fair”.

Tomorrow will be focused on the theme of alimentation at school with the convention of CIR food, Camst ed Elior Catering, important players in the food catering industry and  ANCI (national association of Italian municipalities).

In the morning (9:30 am) in the Spadolini pavilion there will be the round table “the educational value of catering”.

The afternoon will be dedicated to teachers with a training course, recognised as in-service training for teachers, and the presentation of best practices on the themes of food education, taste and sharing.

At 4:30 pm the Chef Fabio Picchi is going to talk about “Cooking a love’s responsibility” the day will be concluded by a show-cooking of the chefs of “UGA la tartaruga”.
