“Transforming Education for the Future”

27-29 September 2017 in Fortezza da Basso Exhibition Centre, Florence

The Didacta Fair in Germany is nowadays the largest school, education and training business fair in Europe.

For the first time Didacta International decides to launch a new edition of its event in a foreign country, choosing Florence as venue of the first Italian Didacta fair, focused on the Italian school, education and training business cluster.

In Italy, the main figures of this sector are constantly growing, also thanks to the renovated consideration received by the recent Italian central government reforms. On one side the multi-year National Plan, that is worth more than 1 billion euros, and is mainly focused on school digitalization. On the other side additional funds, new tools and technical interventions aimed to improve the overall quality of school buildings are also foreseen.

The institutions have dedicated large financial resources to enhance school and teaching areas environment: renovation of buildings and structures, adoption of new products and services, relaunch of professional updating and training of teachers and staff.

Useless to say that the Italian school and education market has now become an opportunity.

In order to be able to involve each potential operator Firenze Fiera, the organising body of Didacta Italia, decided to broaden the scientific partnership to the main central and local school and education institutions. Therefore, an Organising Committee has been created, involving the Ministry of Education, the Tuscany Region, the Florence Municipality, the Chamber of Commerce system, Florence Convention and Visitors Bureau, the national and local trade associations, in constant co-ordination with Didacta Verband in Germany and other important partners.

A very important role will be played by INDIRE, the school and education research institute based in Florence, who will be in charge of the scientific content of the event.

Didacta Italia will be structured on both, an exhibition area, dedicated to companies and institutions, and a scientific program, focused on workshops and seminars, dedicated to teachers and companies too. Over 60 training events, held by high skilled Italian and foreign experts, will allow Didacta Italia to become the main yearly debate event, focused on the main school and education topics.

In order to increase the business opportunities for the exhibiting companies, product presentations and b2b meetings with market operators will be planned.

The Florence exhibition centre where Didacta Italia will take place is a unique location, inside the famous Fortezza Da Basso fortress, itself a renaissance architectural masterpiece, positioned exactly in the city centre. A unique fairground position, compared to other European cities, just at 5 minutes walking distance from the main railway station, with a wide range of hotel accommodation solutions from the tiny and affordable b&b, to the most luxurious hotels.

The Didacta Italia exhibition area counts on over 11.000 sqm, different booth solutions for companies, complete personalization possibilities, seminars and workshops areas, presentation areas, B2B area, lunch area, recharge & relax area.
